What Happened To The Second Flight??
After our post the other day, we read this post in the Telegram.
Here are a couple questions:
1) What exactly exactly will this flight to Detroit offer to us that we do not have currently with JetBlue to JFK or American to Philly?
2) What happened to the 2nd flight to Detroit?
Bottom line is this we have two flights flying early morning to their hubs (JFK & American) that are struggling and we just added a third one(Delta)???
Please note all of these flights could be successful, if we were ever to begin a markerting campaign to let people know about these options. Until then, these flights will struggle with loads that will be under 50%.
Can we say again maybe we should hire a spokeman for the airport??????

some people are never happy with the growth at the airport

What are you happy with Donald? I’m very curious. 30 people on an E190 every morning is growth?

Somebody tap the turntable again. The same song is skipping. In fact put a new song on. Might I suggest Louis Armstrong "A Kiss to Build A Dream On"? That's what Delta gave us. A nice juicy smack on the lips with their name added to jetblues and Americans that are now flying out of Worc. So let's build on that dream! This is a tipping point for the airport. So the airlines nor airport is not marketing to your liking. Look what's happened in the last 5 years. THREE NEW AIRLINES! This WILL grow. Maybe not overnight to you're liking. So let's focus on the good things. Hub service t 3 major connecting cities. JetBlue sees something with their one flight. Otherwise wouldn't they have pulled our by now? They've kept the JFK flight longer than Allegiants short visit. So, maybe I answered Dylan's 2 questions to Don. 1. 3 great airlines now flying out of Worc. 2. They all see a future by not pulling out with 30 passengers. So let's help them by sharing their optimism, and talk about the good reasons why you should FLYORH!

I don’t think this is it... I’ve been checking on flights and have noticed blackouts on Worcester. ORH is still not available on the the Delta app. They have not made an official announcement. Relax

I just read an article in USA Today about how the discount carriers Allegiant, Spirit, Wow, Sun Country and Frontier are adding new routes. Some of these new flights are to Florida destinations that our citizens have been begging for. If Massport can close the deal with one of these carriers I would feel better about the future of ORH. Right now, we have three carriers that were strong-armed into coming here. I don't see anything that indicates they're looking to expand their presence here. I think they're just going to do the bare minimum to keep in Massport's good graces. I can see the same service we have now in three years. ORH could do very well with a modest amount of advertising and routes that our market our area is willing to support. The something is better than nothing approach that a couple of you have just commented on is not sustainable long-term at ORH.

Common sense with the post of the year! Very well put my friend. Couldn’t be any more accurate - this is not good long term. Who cares about one Delta flight a day? “It’s better than nothing”
