Pretty Simple Idea???
We support Worcester Airport more then anyone else and realize the potential that is here, especially now that we have CAT III landing equipment. Any time we fly out of Worcester Airport, you see the TSA, Mass State Police, Massport employees and the representatives from the different airlines.
A few months back, we found out that one person you can not find is a mechanic on duty for all commercial outbound flights. In fact, when a mechanic is needed they are only required to get to the airport within 45 minutes.
In the past when we only had the leisure flights to Orlando and Fort Lauderdale, maybe we could get away with that. Even then we should have been concerned, since there were people making connections with these flights. Delays here, mean missed connections there.
Upon the start of JetBlue to their hub in NYC (JFK), however, we saw this as a major problem since alot of people would be taking this 6:00AM flight to make connections and a timely departure is imperative. We estimate that half of the tickets sold are to make connections and the last thing we want is for peole flying out of Worcester to miss their connection at JFK.
Also as a taxpayer, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has invested over 100 million into Worcester Airport to be a reliever airport for Boston and not to have a mechanic on duty hurts the chances of the taxpayers seeing a return on this investment. Do not believe us then check out our last post . We posted comments from passengers, who were experiencing what happens when a mechanic is not on duty.
There is nothing "negative" about this recommendation, but simply plane truth.

I think we can all agree on the following points: 1) A second JB flight to JFK is crucial to increasing load factors (and profitability) for the route. It would also go a long way to make this route more attractive to business travelers 2) Having a mechanic on duty is critical to ensure the reliability and the public's confidence in this service. 3) A JB flight to the West Coast of FL would do very well. I see comments all the time from people asking for this option. These all seem like no brainers. Why aren't these things happening? The only reasons I can think of are that Massport has ineffective leadership at our airport or JB has no interest in a long-term relationship at ORH other than the two FL flights.

Common Sense great points. Instead of management listening and making changes listening to the their customer base, you will be called "negative" and a "complainer". Maybe herein lies a major problem with our airport???
