Disappointing

Here is the link to the column . In a word, "disappoiinting". Currenty we are very very concerned about the JetBlue JFK flight.

JetBlue is under alot of pressure to cut expenses and are listening closely to Wall Street. Considering the average load for JetBlue is in the mid 80's, how can the Airport Director say JetBlue is happy with the JFK flights 40% full after 5 months of service to their hub!!???

How about some follow-up questions on that?
How about questions on whether or not we can get a 2nd JFK flight?
How about questions on marketing or lack there of?
How about questions about a mechanic not being on duty for the morning flight?

Instead the column proceeds to talk about road access. The most ridiculous subject to bring up, when literally nobody complains about access to Worcester Airport. More importantly, we will not need to worry about road access, if flights like the JFK flight are cancelled due to low ticket sales?

If you have not read it yet, do not waste your time.

I read it specifically to see if you were quoted, Bill. You were but your couple of quotes really didn't add much to the article which was focused more on transportation overall rather than entirely on ORH. The Airport Director can say JetBlue is happy with the current JFK loads because JetBlue is telling him they are happy. He isn't just taking something out of thin air and saying that. Meanwhile, I flew home from Florida yesterday on JB. First leg was DAB to JFK. Airplane was 3x3 seating and it was packed. Second leg was JFK to Boston (not ORH). It was 2x2 seating and it was roughly 75% full. Last week, as I mentioned at the time, the flight down (ORH to MCO nonstop, 2x2 seating), the plane was about 2/3 full. In all cases, each flight pretty much left on time and, in yesterday's case, we got into Boston around a half hour early.

You have to realize that the reporters at the T&G are just puppets of the city administration. They write puff pieces based on the crap that the City spoonfeeds them. They are rarely critical for fear that their sources will dry up. As far as Mr. Davis I think we all can agree that he is a dunce.

Wayne, I do not care that JetBlue is happy with the flights. If he is going to sit there and say he is happy with 40 percent loads because JetBlue doesn't care that tells me that there is no effort being made into improving the service. No **** JetBlue doesn't care - they got three extra gates at Logan for a half an hour flight they don't have to waste a slot on. How does that help Worcester travelers at all? The loads in what is now a good sample size show the service is not enticing enough. Do you think the airport director at Providence or Bradley would say anything like that? You're out of your mind if you think that's an acceptable statement from the leader of what is supposed to be an airport trying to grow.

Wayne, this could be one of the stupidest comments that we have ever read. We were called by the reporter and asked specifically about the airport , thus our quotes on the airport. BTW we said that the loads for JetBlue NYC flight are around 40%. If we were wrong or taken "out of thin air", then the airport director would have corrected. Instead he is happy with 40% , since JetBlue is happy. Our thoughts on this in the next blog.
