October 4th Two Flights To American Hub in Philadelphia Begin
Although very few know that American starts flights October 4th, since there is no marketing plan for Worcester Airport, we predict that they are going to do very well at Worcester Airport.
The biggest mistake JetBlue has made with their flight to their hub at JFK has been two fold:
1) There is only one flight
2) The times are not ideal
6:04AM to JFK Arriving at 7:00AM
10:45PM to ORH arriving at 11:45Pm
As a result the current loads for August we are estimating to be around 40% and even lower for September. Unless JetBlue adds a second flight, this flight most likely will not survive.
On the other hand American has avoided both of these mistakes:
1) Two flights per day.
2) Better Times
5:41 AM ORH to Philly 7:09AM
2:35 PM Philly to ORH 4:14PM
4:39 PM ORH to Philly 6:09 PM
9:30 PM Philly to ORH 10:57PM
As good as the connections with JetBlue through JFK, they are even better with American through Philadelphia. Click here to check out ticket pricing.
Not only do we believe it will be successful, it needs to be for the advancement of Worcester Airport. Right now we are doing well with the Florida flights to Orlando (MCO) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL) with JetBlue, but we are tanking with JFK. If we do not do well with American's flight to their hub, Worcester will just become a leisure airport to popular leisure destinations like MCO and FLL, with no daily flights to hubs.
Check out the American pricing, it is very competitive.
