JetBlue Can Only Grow So Much In Boston

Check out this column the Motley Fool about Boston and JetBlue.

We literally remember when JetBlue made Boston a focus city and set a goal of 100 departures per day. In this column, JetBlue currently has 160 and hopes to reach 200 departures within the next couple of years. Meanwhile, Worcester Airport, which is owned by the same entity (Massport) that owns Boston, has 3 departures per day.

Right now JetBlue's biggest competition is Delta in Boston and as a result have begun flights to two of Delta hubs: Minneapolis-St Paul and Atlanta. Maybe a better way to combat Delta is to incorporate Worcester Airport into their strategy even more to reach 200 flights per day??

Trust me Delta is looking at Worcester as a means to compete against JetBlue, thus why we are now 75% sure they will be coming to Worcester by the end of the year.
