Alot of great things starting to happen at the Worcester Airport (ORH). After Massport has invested over 100 million, including 30+ million for a CAT III landing system, we now have the perfect flight at 6AM to NYC.
We feel this is even better then the current daily flights to Orlando (MCO) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL), since the flight is to JetBlue's hub which opens their entire route map as well as many other international options. Not to mention NYC itself for leisure and business travelers.
From what we have oberved it seems that at least half the NYC tickets are connections, so it is vitally important that this flight gets out on time. Add to that the one e-mail yesterday, it is also important to get out on time for business travelers to NYC.
Now we have also found out that there is no mechanic on duty for this flight and that the current contract calls for a mechanic to get there within 45 minutes. Keep in mind that once the mechanic arrives, he needs to then work on the plane.
Remember the goal here is that we fill this plan every day and JetBlue adds a mid-day turn. With that in mind.
After spending 100 million dollars on infrastructure , including CAT III, and now this flight to NYC, we are thinking that we should have a mechanic on duty for this 6AM flight?
